pretty decent, but i still get horrible speeds when playing halo.

That's wierd. I think sometimes it has more to do with a consistent connection than raw speed. I have 1000kb down and 250kb up and I'm solid on every game I play, including TF2. I used to have cable which was about 6000kb down but was glitchy which made everything run like crap.

Most games use very little bandwidth. So it doesn't really matter if it's a 5mb connection or a 20mb connection. It's the ping or latency that really matters.

Most games can get by with probably a budget DSL of less than 1mb, as long as the ping is good.

i wonder if i get higher ping times by playing with people not on the west coast. sometimes it seems like my ping is super high because i'll die before i even hear or see the other fire.
