Default PC Crew...Firewire vs USB?

I'm in the market for a digital camcorder so that I can do video golf lessons and swing analysis. I'm starting to see lots of camcorders have USB instead of Firewire. Is there a big difference between the two? I will have the camera hooked directly to the laptop and the golf software open to record live....I'm not going to record swings, and then transfer over.

Thanks.

Firewire > USB2.0

USB is rated at it's highest burst speed
Firewire is rated at it's continuous streaming speed

Is there a huge difference in speed between the two? I'm having a hard time finding a camera that isn't too expensive, has manual shutter speed adjustment to 1/2000 sec or faster, and has a firewire connection.

If you are just doing photo images USB is plenty fast enough.
If you are trying to stream video then you want firewire.

I guess I should have made that a bit clearer to begin with

I just started looking around. I don't really need to store video, just stream directly to the laptop. The video analysis software will capture to the computer automatically. I'm looking to go as cheap as I can, because I don't need super high quality video, and the possibility of it being knocked around a bit.
