As a resident of Alaska, I totally vouch for Sarah Palin. She's kickass and hot.

Well, this will be interesting... McCain picked someone ALREADY involved in an ethics scandal :

http://www.adn.com/monegan/story/478090.html

She will get CHEWED ALIVE during debates. Her only hope is that either Biden either takes it easy on her or destroys her so bad people take sympathy on her.

I'm all for a woman VP, but this pick was based on an attempt to capitalize on Obama's youth and disaffected Hillary voters. It's amazing that he would pick someone from a group even more corrupt than the LA dems for his VP.

Dems already had a female VP back in either 80 or 84, but they picked someone that was, amusingly enough, embroiled in scandals, and got destroyed. Geraldine Ferraro I believe her name was...

:eh: i think your info got crossed somewhere.

just a couple:
Governor Murkowski appointed Palin Ethics Commissioner of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission,[19] where she served from 2003 to 2004 until resigning in protest over what she called the "lack of ethics" of fellow Alaskan Republican leaders, who ignored her whistleblowing complaints of legal violations and conflicts of interest.[20][3] After she resigned, she exposed the state Republican Party's chairman, Randy Ruedrich, one of her fellow Oil & Gas commissioners, who was accused of doing work for the party on public time, and supplying a lobbyist with a sensitive e-mail.[21] Palin filed formal complaints against both Ruedrich and former Alaska Attorney General Gregg Renkes, who both resigned; Ruedrich paid a record $12,000 fine.[3]
Shortly after taking office, Palin rescinded 35 appointments made by Murkowski in the last hours of his administration, including that of his former chief of staff James "Jim" Clark to the Alaska Natural Gas Development Authority.[32][33] Clark later pleaded guilty to conspiring with a defunct oil-field-services company to channel money into Frank Murkowski's re-election campaign.[34]

Oh, wow. Good to see she's not cut from the same stone as the rest of that gang up there!

Doesn't help that she already has an independent investigation looking into her office after only one year though...

In 1969, journalist William Safire asked Richard Nixon what he thought about gun control. "Guns are an abomination," Nixon replied. According to Safire, Nixon went on to confess that, "Free from fear of gun owners' retaliation at the polls, he favored making handguns illegal and requiring licenses for hunting rifles."

It was President George Bush, Sr. who banned the import of "assault weapons" in 1989, and promoted the view that Americans should only be allowed to own weapons suitable for "sporting purposes."

It was Governor Ronald Reagan of California who signed the Mulford Act in 1967, "prohibiting the carrying of firearms on one's person or in a vehicle, in any public place or on any public street." The law was aimed at stopping the Black Panthers, but affected all gun owners.

Twenty-four years later, Reagan was still pushing gun control. "I support the Brady Bill," he said in a March 28, 1991 speech, "and I urge the Congress to enact it without further delay."

One of the most aggressive gun control advocates today is Republican mayor Rudolph Giuliani of New York City, whose administration sued 26 gun manufacturers in June 2000, and whose police commissioner, Howard Safir, proposed a nationwide plan for gun licensing, complete with yearly "safety" inspections.

Another Republican, New York State Governor George Pataki, on August 10, 2000, signed into law what The New York Times called "the nation’s strictest gun controls," a radical program mandating trigger locks, background checks at gun shows and "ballistic fingerprinting" of guns sold in the state. It also raised the legal age to buy a handgun to 21 and banned "assault weapons," the sale or possession of which would now be punishable by seven years in prison.
Why do some of yall believe the Dems are out to get your guns?:dunno:

Regan was the worst president for gun control

That lists 5 republicans that did anti gun things. Shall I list the Dems? Also, the last two are from New York. They don't even count.

vs

http://www.ontheissues.org/Sarah_Palin.htm#Gun_Control

And how about Barack's acceptance speech?
"We can protect the 2nd amendment and still keep Ak-47 out of the hands of criminals." I'd love to see how he proposes to do that.

Also, last I checked, Clinton signed the AWB that banned those scary "high capacity magazines, collapsible stocks, etc." You know, those things that turn normal guns into baby killing machines.
