exactly.

I understand the needs of the blind. I know that people should have the same shopping experiences / general rights ... but this "problem" is industry wide. You can't nail Target and expect it to stop there.

Vultures will hop on the gravy train and sue every single website because of this.

Jaws, Windows Eyes are two of the best screen readers, but they are not free.

You take away the sight aspect and you can still use the internet.
If you are Deaf, you can't hear most of the music(Most Deaf people can hear some. A large majority of the Deaf community can heard jets and lawn mowers and chain saws.) If you are Deaf, you still have some sound. Most of the time it sounds like you are underwater, garbled.
I got off on a tangent there, but you take away sound from music and you have nothing. You take away sight from the internet and you can still use it and get around, using sound.

So blind people shouldn't have braille either. Words were not created to feel them, but to see them with your eyes.

You would be surprised how many sites work well. I haven't tried using Target with a screen reader. I'll try it right now. I've used it on many other sites and my coworkers, who a few are blind, do very well getting around the computer and the internet.

Well I don't know if they are exactly the same for blind people using the accessibility options. I've never used them, but I can understand your gripe and I can understand theirs, being hearing impaired. I'm going to assume these companies will try their best to accommodate these people.

Okay. I was just playing around a little with Target.com
Is is very hard to navigate using a screen reader. Not impossible but they make it very hard to do anything. Many of the menus are mouse overs. You can only go to the top menu then they have so much content that it is hard to get to the rest of the links. You can, but even having it read very quickly, it takes a long time to get to the links. I admit, it was better than I thought, but still there is a bunch of flash that is not friendly. It would be very easy for them to change it.

Edit: This was just me playing with it for 30 seconds. I don't know how much of the rest is accessible.

braille was designed for blind people but suing Random House because they use a font that's difficult for your print to braille translation machine* would be dumb.

*I don't think such a thing exists but if it did that would be the equivalent
