Default swing shift vs graveyard v.extrafewbucksperhour

I already work 4pm-1230am M-F

I'm probably going to be doing a Sunday-Thurs 8pm-430am

The late night differential is 20% and starts at 12am.

Evening differential is 10% and is 8pm-12am.

so overall, its 15% over the dayshift

worth it???

If it doesn't kill you in the process... yes.

As far as working graveyard in addition to normal hours, especially with you working so many as it is, I think what type of job would be a big factor. Occasionally I only work for 31/2 to 4 hrs. at my job (h and it's as bad or worse than 8hrs. at some of the the better jobs out there.

Also how much you currently make per hr. would factor in too, I've gone into work at 11pm-12am before just for an extra $2per hour, but back then I only made $6.50 an hr. normally, so $2 was worth it.

The work I do is not physically intensive at all. Lots of computer screens, tape machines, etc.

12 hour shifts arent that draining, unless theres a lot of problem solving, which can be mentally draining.

I say go for it than Spec R, if the extra pay is enough to make some difference to you (more financial security or be able to buy something) than sounds like it's worth it if the job isn't bad.
I'm a night owl too, but I prefer not be work those hours if I can avoid it.

I work those hours and dont get shift differential. If available though I'd go to a particular shift for the pay differential. Especially if I had no wife or kids. If it doesnt affect your quality of life i.e. relationships and such then definitely go for it bro

wow, I see now why you were having some issues w/ your gf (fine person I'm sure, I've no opinion on that previous thread) not working since you are busting your ass with so many hours.
