car purchases you regretted later on
'94 Integra GS-R. I really like Integras but this one was a bad example. The previous owner (some Vietnamese guy) had "tuned" the car. This was my fault for buying a car that had been tinkered with and not knowing much about modding at the time I guess. I had so much trouble with that damn car. I wanted it to be great but in the end I spent way too much money on it in repairs and the best I could get was like 23 mpg.
I'd get another Integra in a heartbeat if it weren't poorly modified.

02 Sentra SE-R because of lack of reliability. Needing a SECOND engine replacement after only putting 15k on a new engine from Nissan. Car only had about 70k miles on it.
02 TL-s Transmission going out is always in the back of my mind. Main regret is not waiting a little longer for s2000 or CL-s 6spd prices to come down a bit. Still a great car tho with decent mileage for its size.
Only car i don't regret and will pick up in the future is another 6gen civic.

92 Isuzu Rodeo. Bought as a beater for $800. Put 5,000 miles on it, it stranded me twice, dumped about $1800 into it, and sold it for $600. Lost almost $2000 on that one, not to mention my time being stranded.
It was a fun little truck, just not reliable enough. Especially considering how few miles I put on it. But what do I expect for an $800 beater?
Now I'm worried my '92 4Runner is going to put me in the same situation. I bought it for $2200, have put about $1800 into it, and it still has a few issues. At least it hasn't stranded me yet.

granted i've only had 4 cars.
the first integra i just paid waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much for. that was me being a noob and just wanting a car without thinking about the consequences of spending out of my means. oh well, i lived the dream of going turbo in an integra in that car.
the evo was a good learning lesson - all the awesome performance comes with a pricetag. theres also no point in having a super fast car if you're a law abiding citizen that obeys the rules of the road (aka no street racing/excessive speeding)
240sx has always done me right, and hopefully the current teg can do the same.
