i have a 2700t as well, had it for about 6-8months and it's perfectly fine.

Bought the HP DV2911US from OD for 550 (no tax). Works great. Pretty fast for 1.83ghz, 3GB, and 250GB HDD. Almost on par with my Dell Vostro 1400 with T8100 @ 4GB ram. I use the Vostro for personal biz and the HP for Photo & video on the go.

lenovo ftw.

the newer dells and hps are pretty decent.... i'd just stay away from glossy screens.
