womens gymnastics is awesomeness
nope i agree. if there is an age restriction on 1, there should be on all. nope that is good. and other teams are doing it. but are they winning because of it? if you cheat and you dont win no one cares. its when you cheat and you start winning that people go he wtf?

also another problem...someone who is lucky enough for to have the age qualification this year can do the olympics. but if they only turn 15 this year they can't... 4 year later they are 19 and too old. So all these girls that are GREAT athletes don't have a chance to win the most prestigious award? that not fair to them...
Not fair is breaking the rules specified in a sport. Just cause you don't like rules doesn't mean they aren't fair, they're there for a reason, maybe you don't like them but there probably is a justified reason for them. Maybe it's because the bones of developing girls under 16 are stable enough who knows, but people put rules in for a reason.

and i'm just pointing out that the age rule is stupid... How can there be a resqtriction on some competition and not others. The olympics is suppose to be the best athleat not the one that was lucky enough to be born on the perfect year to be 16 on the olympic season. This rule just doesn't make sense.
it doesnt make sense to you tark
but if there really was no sense to the rule i highly doubt it would have stood up to being put in place ... its there for a reason, and regardless if someone likes it or not they need to follow it.
and you say they have a id ... the problem is there are conflicting reports that some of these girls arent the age they say they are. i dont care what the rules are or who likes them or not. you cant go breaking them just cuz you dont like them. if they dont like them that much then they need to follow the proper course to get the rule removed. the fact of the matter is there is a reason they have this rule, we dont know why ... we just know its there

It's an advantage to be the younger in gymnastics. Younger mean that they are less susceptical to injuries. Also smaller frame which can be an advantage in gymnastics. Back in the day the lady gymnists would be mid 20 and they could never do what these girls are able to do now a days.
