Default Hard Drive question vSATA

SO I have a 500 Seagate SATA transferring to a 1TB Seagate SATA, and I removed the 1.5gb/sec jumper but I am still only getting 55MB/sec

What gives?

I think those speeds are all theoretical. No matter the connection, you're still spinning the platters at 7,200 rpm.

It's all marketing. : \

1.5Gb != 1.5GB

and 1.5Gb is theoretical max BURST speed. ie from cache to memory. however of the 1.5Gb about .2/.3 Gb is used to communication and acknowledgments. thus max theoretical data speed is far less.

IMO 55MB/s is very good.
