Take the LIRR to penn station then take the C or A to 57th then walk down to 54th and cross town to 12th ave.

I thought the trains would be confusing and Penn Station would be even worse but it wasn't all that bad. By the way I had terrible Japanese/Korean food from a restaurant a couple blocks away from Broadway.
