edit: keep in mind that I believe these are net figures, meaning that is all take home pay. On top of that, if they're on active duty, food and housing is all paid. Correct me if I'm wrong snoops/LT.
Gross pay, Ryan. And yes, active duty has housing/BAH and food/BAS covered.
So whats your favorite weapon that you've shot? What do you get to shoot that we don't? Any grenade launchers?
so far i've shot the m16a4, m249 saw 5.56, m240 7.62, and m203 40mm grenade launcher. my fav so far has been the m240. fully automatic 7.62mm machine gun? yes please. soon i'll get to shoot the at-4 rocket launcher, smaw 83mm rocket launcher, the loudest weapon in the marine corps arsenal behind an m1a1 abrams main battle tank main gun, and barrett .50 cal sniper rifle. good times indeed.

that's monthly before taxes. keep in mind $250 is taken out each month for BAS (basic allowance for substinance) so i can eat in the chow hall whether i choose to or not, and i put 5% of all my pay into what we call the thrift savings play, basically a savings plan i can only draw on after i leave active duty. so each pay period i'm lucky to see ~$650. and 18-20 hour days are not uncommon.
