No not at all times. Mine has a "necklace" setup that came with it like a leash and it usually hangs on that around my neck but during work hours I have it in all day long because I am on the phone almost all day with customers, ordering etc.

as soon as i get in my car i enable the bluetooth connection and put the piece in my ear. When I get to where I am going, I turn it off and leave it in the car. :dunno:
