I believe also the jumbo limit is increased from 417K to 6xxK? not sure on the amount. but it seems nearly impossible to get that amount these days.

yeah, but once you go over 417, your percentage still goes up. last broker i talked to said it goes up 1 percent.

It is very standard practice in a buyers' market. Happens every day down here. When we were looking at $300kish houses sellers were offering 6% without a problem. We didn't end up buying b/c we wanted to pay down more debt first though.

1 percent? which bank? the ones I've checked with were charging 1.5-2% more.
