Cable question :o
Thanks for all your help so far...I have a few more questions
Is this diagram possible to setup my TVs and internet? I am mostly concern with the length of cable to the office and bedroom. :uhhok:

check the splitter, it should tell u which output has less signal going out of it, if they're all equal, i'd use a 2 way splitter first and let the modem get 1 line off that. then use splitters on the other line to go to the tvs. my parent's house had issues with the cable modem and hd cable box cuz of the way the splitters were arranged (7 tvs + modem). had to rewire it so the 2 strongest signals went to those 2 devices.
Too much signal loss if you put one splitter behind another...
Nothing wrong with the first setup. Just get a really good quality low loss splitter.

run it like this ...

notes:
Signal degradation happens when you split one line into too many. Also, when you run extended lengths of cable, you'll start to lose signal strength. From my personal experience, I lost a significant amount of signal when I ran a 50ft cable from a 4 way splitter. How can I tell I lost signal? Stations didn't come in. Channels that worked in one room, didn't work in the other.
The remedy to this was to amp the line via signal booster.
You cannot signal boost a line that's dedicated for the cable internet. It'll f it up pretty badly.
In the graph above, you create a 2 way split just for the cable internet. The 2nd portion will be boosted so you don't lose TV signal.

I had to flip flop which rooms I made into the spare bedroom and office because only one of them had a wall jack and I didn't feel like paying for them to come and drill out for a new one. :hs:
