Easy to get rich in Russia.

Sell oil, or rights to move it. Sell arms. Sell security services. Most of their former air force is now used to give "joyrides" to rich foreigners for a hefty price tag. They were all used to corruption before hand, so the transition was pretty easy, it would seem.

1989 was the fall of the iron curtain/berlin wall right? i remember that, but i remember the hasselhoff singing ontop of the crumbling wall more

at the end of the article, some of the owners said they were afraid to be listed because they didn't want to get arrested. i :chuckles: at that.

Some say it's still under a authoritarian regime. But they just had election a couple of months ago. The fall of comunism came in 1989 symbolised by the fall of the Berlin wall.

Poor living conditions are due to year of comunism and totalitarian ruling.

1989 = fall of Berlin Wall. The GDR and a bunch of Soviet Bloc countries started breaking off from the USSR over the 18 months or so and in 1991, the USSR finally folded.
