Default Well I broke down and bought a laptop today...

It's an Acer EX5620-4020. $567.85 shipped from NewEgg, I know it's not what most of you would buy but it suits me and my sister-in-law had several different Acer desktops and laptops and liked them. Seems like you get a lot for a little money. I'm going to dump the Vista and install XP...

Acer Extensa EX5620-4020 NoteBook Intel Pentium dual-core T2370(1.73GHz) 15.4" Wide XGA 2GB Memory DDR2 667 250GB HDD DVD Super Multi Intel GMA X3100.

ACER EXTENSA

Mostly school, papers and such, surfing the web between classes, and while I'm out in the living room instead of my office. I'm going to install a photoshop and an audio editing program. Didn't have enough cash on hand or I would have gotten a Macbook.

I hope one day that you can experience a Mac, if you've yet to have one. I think you'd like software that comes with the iLife package, and Leopard OS.

We use an almost identical model of those Acer Extensa's at work. They are really nice.

That's a good idea. Gives you a better appreciation for Windows.

ACER used to be a good mobo, I'm sure they make good stuff. I had a short on a mobo made by them, and have never suggested them to a customer ever after.

Keep in mind the short was most likely a huge peice of dust, user error. Keep your CPU clean people.

How do you like it? I'm working on a Sony Vio(?) and a HP Thinkpad tablet as we speak.
