I'm more worried that i don't crack a line and lose all the R12 the thing has charged. Upgrading would be a bitch. The stuff cools like no other though, it's iced over.

I would think so.. as i have not changed anything in the freon charge, it's all original.

R12 was one of them, but there are some older fridges that used ammonia as a refrigerant- I have no clue as to the dates of when the companies switched though- I'd still be careful regardless
