You can make it perfectly reliable if you use the right parts and think about what you're doing... most people just slap a vtec head onto their 150k mile LS and call it a day, which is why they have such a bad reputation. At the very least you need shot-peened LS rods and ARP rod bolts. Basically, if you have a crvtec/lsvtec that wasn't completely stripped down, it's not a good one.

Plus if I do the valve seals I mite just keep it for myself instead of the h22a

h: Lemme decide which motor I wanna rebuild for myself and I will let you know in the next few days. I know another guy I work with on Honda's side has a CR-V motor that needs rings sitting under his work bench for like 3 months. I mite be able to scoop that off him as well.
