You can make it perfectly reliable if you use the right parts and think about what you're doing... most people just slap a vtec head onto their 150k mile LS and call it a day, which is why they have such a bad reputation. At the very least you need shot-peened LS rods and ARP rod bolts. Basically, if you have a crvtec/lsvtec that wasn't completely stripped down, it's not a good one.

hmmm...if you are parting out the b16a I am still interested in the head. I have a GSR shortblock that would very much enjoy its company h:

I also have a b20 long block sitting around at work :rick:

If you need an 84mm Golden Eagle LS/VTEC conversion kit for a B20/VTEC, let me know. I have one still left over from my teg days, new in box...I just need to get rid of it. I'll sell it cheap.

I'm just worried about shipping costs killing Plus if I do the valve seals I mite just keep it for myself instead of the h22a h: sell the GSR long to buy a tranny h:

Lemme decide which motor I wanna rebuild for myself and I will let you know in the next few days. I know another guy I work with on Honda's side has a CR-V motor that needs rings sitting under his work bench for like 3 months. I mite be able to scoop that off him as well.

I'm kinda looking for something in good running order that I can just bolt in and be done with. :hs: I know that the fewer steps involved, the less likely I am to be derailed by the procrastination train. h:
