Default How likely...

is a cell phone company to waive their early termination fees if you tell them you've moved and get NO reception at your new location?

I've been with Helio for almost a year now...want to change companies because my phone and reception are pissing me off....I haven't moved, but my reception in my house has always been shitty...so if I say I moved and don't get any reception at my new place, will they just let me out of the contract?

Probably not, my Aunt ran into the same thing a couple of years ago with Sprint. She ended up keeping that phone and having to get another plan with another company...so she has 2 cell phones with 2 different companies

usually 100% if you say you don't get reception in your main travel area.

Very likely. You just have to know what to say and how to say it. Basic conversational skills if you ask me Come off like an ass and they wont really bend over to help you. Get them to feel for ya, and you can get your way. I did this with Sprint before.

With that said...if you get no reception at your new place....you shouldnt be paying for the service...even if that means you leaving them.

I figured it I was diplomatic that I could get them to bend to my needs...I just didn't want to be the fact that I still have over a year left on my contract to be a huge issue.

if the person you're talking to wont help, then just hang up and dial again until you get someone who is willing to help.

Came here to post this.

I would humbly request a supervisor from the start of the phone call. I'd explain my ordeal and have the tone of, "Please stop charging me for something I cannot use :hs:."
