thats exacly why i was asking. my uncle just got a is350 and he can't do shit whil car is in motion. just too stupid IMO they should be a way to diable it... that way if you do get in an accident you wouldnt be able to sue the manufacturer because it was your choice to deactivate it.

My Dad has an IS 250 with Navi. Someone at his work also has one, and is the tech guy, who hooks my Dad up with all the shiz.. Anyway, my point, the guy disabled it by hitting a series of buttons/spots on the screen, not sure how and it seems a little back door but its possible.

My Lexus has it, it will only let you search if you arent moving. There is a hack tho, on mine (LS430) its Menu>DVD>top left>bottom left>top left>bottom left>bottom right (hold 2 sec)
in service menu, push "disable"
in service menu, push "disable"
but i grease from there
