Default DVD Burning problems

I am burning DVD's for work and no matter what, it is always burning at like 1.45x even though I have a 16x DVD SATA burner. I am using Roxio and it is on a computer that is only 1 year old...

any ideas?

the discs are speed sensitive. do you have 16X compatible discs?

is the Roxio a full version? Demos often limit the recording speed.
