Default computer gurus help!!!

My brothers computer just shut off by itself. I thought the power supply was bad so I swapped it out with another one. No power. Next thing was to rule out the power button. Switched all the internals from one case to another. Still no power. Now I think it's a motherboard but I don't have an extra one to test it with. What else could it be?

when you try to power it on does anything happen? Any fans come on? Any sound at all? There is usually an LED on the motherboard that will be on if the motherboard has power, is it on?

No power at all. No fans, no sound, nothing. The LED on the motherboard is not on. Thats why I think now the motherboard is bad.

What kind of computer is it?

Look for fried cap's, they look like little cylinders on the mobo with crosses on the top, are there any that are bulging?

:edit:

It's a computer that I built myself. It has a Gigabyte motherboard. :hs: Are you talking about capacitors? They look fine.
