shorter gearing will always equal faster acceleration. The reason people say taller gears keep you in boost longer is because yes, you stay in a gear longer and above a range of boost building, but that doesn't equate to a faster car. Boosting in a tall ass gear may have you "in boost" longer. but it still doesn't equate to a faster car. I dunno how to explain.

Its best to choose your gear ratios based on your powerband. The only time I can see an LS tranny being benificial is with very high horsepower applications where traction in, and beyond 3rd gear becomes an issue. This should still be a last resort though.
