That is a good question. Hopefully, I can answer it. Military training is more than just knowing my job...I also have to be trained in various anti-terrorism measures, I can obtain a TS clearance (saving the employer money in background checks), military bureaucratic structure is very similar to federal bureaucratic structure. It's a natural progression for mil -> agency employment.
