dude do your first year from CC ... way cheaper, just make sure your credits will transfer. get all the general ed shit out of the way for half the price. then get the degree with the big name on it

1. Take the placement tests seriously. You can save yourself years of pain by placing into average / above average classes (101+). Last thing you want is to fall into pre-req hell (080, 090, 091, etc)
2. It isn't that bad. Make sure you consult with a counselor on which courses will transfer. You don't want to waste a single class credit. I fucked this up badly, and lost 18 credit hours (1.5 semesters) in transit.
3. Go to class. When you realize "I don't have to be there" is when you're screwed. Take it seriously and do your best.

Agreed, had I been in a serious financial crunch when I first started college, I would have definitely done the first two years at a CC, then transfered for the final 2 years to a bigger university. The classes you take at a big school vs. CC are virtually identical.
