It does not break it, it's like taking a butter knife to a door lock... not that i have ever done that.
It just slips the lock

Yes, you can use the lock again, all you do is use a peice of aluminium can to jam down, and unclasp it.
The lock is fine afterwards, although you still don't know the code to open it.
It's not all that hard.
