use is use, correct. What I'm saying is that I'd rather use my PS3 for Blu-Ray and PS3 console specific playback.

Sony stopped supporting the software emulation last year. It was too problematic and distracted Sony developers from PS3 projects.
From what I read on the sony forums, the discontinuation was a rumor before the "MGS4 80gb bundle" was announced. After that I read about the new uses for the software. But at this point, who knows.
As to the usage, I agree with your point. But, i like the fact that from time to time, i can throw in an old game...and retire the PS2 to the master bedroom.
I believe Wal-Mart gives you a $100 giftcard for purchasing the 40GB system this week only.
$100 will cover the cost of MGS 4 and 75% of a 2nd controller.
Werd. I was going to do that but then I got my PS3 through the amazon.com goldbox deal. Also I applied for a sony card and I already got my $100 credit back so I got my PS3 for $279.99. No tax and free shipping ftw!
What would've been awesome was if I had purchased my ps3 during this walmart deal and then I would get $100 credit back on my sony card and $100 gift card. h: Maybe thats just asking for too much.
