han cell phone crew....
I don't really see much point in going with a Blackberry if you're not going to hook it up to an email account. Push email is the Blackberry killer app.
Would you sync the PIM functions (contacts, calendar, etc) with a PC or is that not important?

not overly important but if it is an option, I would use it.
im really more interested in having a good calendar/datebook in my phone than using web/email features....
i do text a lot so maybe that is something to keep in mind if the keys are a pain in the ass to use....
and i have verizon
the size of the phone compared to other smartphones is appealing.... im more of a pocket carrier than a belt carrier

I just use it for all my scheduling, and it's real slick. I'd check out the Treos... i love the palm OS. way better / more stable than WM and I just plain don't like blackberry. I don't like the OS, and the lack of a touchscreen.
werd. I have a treo 680, and just don't use the data. fuck that shit, i have internet at home that I already pay for.

ive always liked the treos and the palm software is nice, plenty of applications are available that i would be interested in too.... and the touchscreen would be nice... the biggest appeal of the pearl is the size and the price.... not much else out there for $100
also in the back of my mind, im telling myself there is nothing wrong with my phone, maybe i should just keep using it... i like it well enough and it serves my needs. :dunno: we'll see....
thats pretty much my thought.... i have the internet at home and at work and i dont really get that much email....

I paid $80 for my 680 (contract renewal) in january. They are a little hefty, but that doesn't matter to me. i don't grease myself up and slide into leather pants. the size has never been an issue.
There's also huge support for palm OS. there are a ton of freeware programs available. I have one that is a remote control for my TV
yeah. the only internet i'll use on my phone is wifi. everywhere I go is wifi. I don't see the need to have a full data plan with all those internets flying around.

wifi ftw... ill have to see what my options are if i decide to get something new... who knows.... ive also sorta been interested in just getting a regular old phone.... Samsung SCH-u620 is on the top of the list... my current phone is a samsung and it has been great and my phone before that was the Kyocera slider.... so im sure ill like the design...
a good way to get a cheap phone is to get a prepaid. AT&T and T-mo have great deals on them pretty frequently... like $20 or so. You can just put your existing SIM into it and be good to go.
