Default computer people

I just reformatted my friends laptop, but I'm having a problem with the ethernet driver.
It is a emachines M5309

the network drivers from emachines.com doesn't work and I've tried the ones from broadcom. Anyone have any ideas on what driver I can use? and no this laptop does not have wireless. Thanks

ok so I opened up the laptop and the ethernet/modem connection isn't soldered anymore.
I'm thinking of having him get a ethernet port that goes into the cardbus slot... the laptop has a "PCMCIA Slot (Card Bus type I and type II)"
I'm on right now newegg but don't know which section to go under :/
