werd. I got one when I signed a new contract but I ended up taking it back after a couple days and exchanging it for a Blackjack II. I like to be able to put my phone in my pocket when need be and it just wasn't happening with that thing. Plus the battery life was pretty awful. :hs:

Well....I pulled the trigger. Held out for a whole 11 days! This EDGE data has been really annoying me since AT&T launched 3g service here in Madison back in March. Before then, eh wasn't such an issue. h:

Compared to my HTC S620 (which I really like the size/shape and HTC home screen), this has a bigger screen, faster CPU, twice the RAM, 3G data, GPS, and 3 MP cam instead of 1 MP.

Both the Blackjack II and Moto Q9h, even though they have somewhat similar upgrades, don't have wifi (which I really like if I'm at home or somewhere with free wifi) and I kinda wanted to try something with a bigger screen.

Figured for the $150 price and the ability to keep my cheapie $20/month unlimited data plan I might as well.

This'll be my third Windows Mobile phone.

For my use, Blackberry plans are too expensive, the iPhone has no buttons, Palm is old and their devices are chunky, and Symbian doesn't have any 3G QWERTY phones save for the E71 which isn't out yet.

So....

Windows Mobile for me!

Ok yeah, I'm totally sold on 3G.

Hooked up the tethering just to do a quick speed test.

1266 kbps down / 350 kbps up

I'd only use it in a pinch but hey sweet!

also works via bluetooth as well, if a little bit slower.

They have custom tweaks/hacks/etc at xda-forums. Look there my friend altered his Tilt quite significantly.

Yeah this is my third HTC phone I'm well acquainted with xda-developers.

Already went on there to set up tethering. The tethering app that AT&T handicaps their HTC phones with (WModem) sucks. The one that comes on HTC unlocked phones (Internet Sharing) is much better. Someone on xda-developers was kind enough to extract the HTC Internet Sharing app from the TyTN II and post it as a handy-dandy CAB file to install on the Tilt.

Now I just have to install the rest of the programs I want:

Yahoo! Go
Microsoft Live Search
Skyfire Browser
EI S-Tris 2
Google Search
OctroTalk
PicoDrive
