not a fan of the video card or processor. Do you have a 7.1 sound system for that $200 sound card? :eh:

The Asus P5E-VM HDMI has an HDMI output along with an onboard optical output. It uses the Realtek 7.1 system, so it's pretty decent.

If you beef up the processor (Intel Q6600, C2Q, 2.4ghz per core, 6MB L2), this thing should fly. The chip is being phased out, but it's the OC'er standard for builds.

it's really really compact. When I saw it in person, there's almost no room for anything like Rick said a while back.

From the reviews, the HDMI and optical sound work great.

Heads up with that Realtek 7.1 audio though, it's really pissy. You gotta make sure you're installing XP w. SP1, XP w. SP2, or Vista ... no questions. The XP I'm using is pirated. It's some corporate "final" version with SP3. :eh:

No registration. No activation. No serial number. No onboard sound worky. :hs:

I'd work around it if possible. The 6 SATA slots is such a nice thing to have.

But i'd only use 1. I want at least 2 PCI slots, a PCI-E x4 and a PCI-E x16

p35 chipset > g33.

onboard hdmi is overrated.

nvidia 8500 or 8600 is best for HD shit.... they take most of the load off the the CPU when playing HD encoded files.
