not really sure about the tech's... they are old school air-cooled rear engine design. i am pretty sure they are at least on a similar platform with the bug as well as some late model Porsches.

why do i want one? i think they look kind of cool, you dont see a lot of them out there... I dunno, why not?

they are on the same frame and engine as the beatles. and the 50's porsche 356's were on the same engine as the early beatles too, i am not sure on the frame. its been 7 years since i had my 944 and my dad his 911S, so i dont remember much anymore about them..

yeah the style is nice. but look at old bugatti's. but those arent cheap.

The Ghia has a similiar pan design but was a different platform at the same time. You can interchange the front torsion assembly and the rear swingarm as well as the engines from the Type I, II and III.

I never really liked the Ghias all that much though they are kinda cool. I would take a Notchback all day long though and have owned almost every year Bug from 54 up to 67 (the last year worth owning for Bugs) and several fastbacks, squarebacks, couple notchbacks and a few busses and transporters.

I used to be a huge aircooled VW fan and still love them.
