T-Mobile customers?
Check this slick bitch out  Maybe slider's aren't so bad

Samsung 'Soul' SGH U900
Samsung's sleek new cell phone is thin and rich: The 13mm-thick handset includes a 5-megapixel camera with 4X digital zoom, image stabilization and face detection, plus support for blazingly fast 7.2-mbps data connections. But the real innovation here is the interface: This slider phone offers both a numeric keypad and a touch-screen that vibrates when you press it; meanwhile, the Soul's Thematic user interface displays only the icons relevant to the task at hand.

So......
Now that your contract is up I take it T-Mobile offers you some kind of discount if you sign a new contract?
Granted you're not so much in to the smartphone stuff, that's fine. You do anything like use the camera relatively frequently, send lots of texts, check a few mobile web pages here and there?

i have the moto rizr z3 and i absolutely love it
i thought the texture of the phone was ugly at first, but after almost a year of owning it, there has been no scratches on it whatsoever.
i like how motos allow you to customize your own shortcuts, unlike samsung.
only downside to this phone and other motos are the slow user interfaces.
the camera on it is 2.0 mp but it's not really that great, as compared to the sony ericssons
battery life, it lasts me about 3-4 days under normal usage (20-30 mins of phone calls a day)
would i recommend it?
absolutely.. thats if you dont want to shell out the extra $ for the iphone
