iPod car cable
Does anyone have a cable that plugs their iPod into their stereo? It has one of the dock inputs.

I'm trying to figure something out with mine and I want to see if the cable will charge it or not. I'm planning on getting an iPod docking base, connecting it to my stereo and fabricating something for the dock so I can just sit my ipod in it.

i have the pioneer d3 and i have the ipod cable to it. it does charge my ipod, so should yours as well. if it plugs in to the usual com port it should generally charge it.
its definitely easier to just get the cable, but the dock you can use elsewhere.

I'm not sure where this question is going because all aftermarket radio to iPod cables charge the attached device.
building and mounting a dock for the ipod might not be a good idea either. If you brake hard, or turn hard, the iPod will detach from the base. Most home docks aren't meant to hold in players tightly.

Sounds like he has an aftermarket radio. When these quick cables are plugged in, you control your iPod through the radio's faceplate. You dock this, you'll see a battery recharge symbol, that's it.
