so i got the three red lights on thursday. i turned it off, turned it on, lights again.

so i call microsoft to get the box shipped out right away, it's on it's way.

i try it on friday, red lights..

i try it on saturday, works..

try it again on saturday, works..

worked all day yesterday, works this morning..

i'm thinking about canceling the fix order thing, and just wait until it really breaks for good to send it in. if they get it and turn it on and it works, will they just send it back? that's what i'm afraid of.

About the return box coming from MSFT ... is there a due date on the return? I'd hold onto the MSFT return box and see what happens during the week.

You saw the rings once, so I'm sure they'll be back.

yeh, they said that if i didn't send it within a certain amount of days, then it would be canceled or something.

here are my options i figure..

i send it out, they send me a different one, i'm happy.
(best outcome)

i send it out, they get it, they see it isn't "broken", so they just send it back. then i could get the lights again and be even more pissed.
(worst outcome)

i don't send it out, i get the lights in a week, i just request another box.
(doesn't really matter)

i don't send it out, i don't get the lights for like a month or two.
(i'll be able to play gta4 for a week or two h

It'll break again...trust me, mine use to do that before it took the long drive to the nearest best buy to be replaced. It would work fine, then cut out for a couple hours, then work fine then cut out for a couple hours this happened for a week and then it bit the dust.

What I'd do ...

1. put 360 on the ground (stand it up)
2. place a rubbermaid container over it.
3. run it and don't turn it off

The recycled heat will cook it.

hmmmm.

not a bad idea, i guess i feel i want to get as much use out of it as i can before i send it out. but then again, i want to have it for gta4, so maybe sending it out asap is the best option.

just send it out. They ship out a refurbed one before they even look at yours.

mine did that... i called and then it was somewhat working but it would still freeze sometimes. I sent it anyway and they replaced it. I say send it in cause it's gonna crap soon anywais.
