thats why i use a pesticide sprayer. you have control of the water stream.

people who go all crazy with pressure washers and what not have no control of where the water goes. and with all the excess pressure, the water is sure to get past seals/covers/etc.

if anything, i just avoid the intake, distributor, and alternator area.

Just the electrical stuff like the alternator, sensors, distributor, etc....

Oh and just put a garbage bag over the valve cover and tie it down so no water gets near the plugs. Or else you'll misfire up the ass.

My plugs are hidden down so I shouldn't need to worry about that.
My engine bay is already really clean, but I might wash it anyway.

subaru bays are a bit tricky though. lets of weird crevices and hard to get to areas.
