eh, so the extra doesn't get used. At least this way you know you have your system maxed and it's going to use all that it can.... and it's super cheap.

When I sold ram back in the day for Macs, we had 512mb chips under lock and key for about $1500.
Ram is so cheap now, it's amazing.
