Would a Sharpie marker "run" on a snowboard jacket?

Default Would a Sharpie marker "run" on a snowboard jacket?

I have a white jacket, and I want to add my own design to it.

I have a few thick Sharpies lying around. Not sure if it'll go bad in the washing machine though.

They make acrylic fabric paints for doing that kind of thing on clothing. You need to go to a craft type store to get them. Fabric stores would also have them.

what type of fabric is the jacket?
i would expect a little bleeding when initially drawing it, but it shouldnt bleed in the washer, just fade
if you are serious about making it then look into "resists" for fabric painting, they are like a glue you outline with and the paint wont bleed past the lines
they also make pens that do this fyi

If it is goretex or a goretex based jacket it won't stick very well because of the shell coating 3m uses tends to repel that sort of thing and not let it soak into the fibres.

I would check a craft store like OldMan suggested and see what they say since they deal with this more often.
