i had to install 32GB once into one system. it was a dell server and it cost a pretty penny for all them rams.
in my personal systems I've ran 4gb on 3 different systems at the same time. these days i've mellowed down and currently i have 3gb work laptop, 2gb gaming system and 2gb home laptop.
