yep lease is up & i'm moving in 2.5 weeks...hate packing :loco:

not moving far....same complex - different building. getting a 2bdrm. almost 300sqft more space for only $100/month more

i had intentionally decided to move just for a lil extra space.... kitchen & cabinet space is bigger, bigger mbdrm, larger mdrm closet, storage on balcony closet that 1bdrm doesn't have.... but my best friend laura now needs a place to live, so she's moving into the other bdrm. gonna be nice to have her around....since we hang out 3 or 4 times a week anyway. be nice to have a consistant face around

Space is good.

 

i work days & she is a bartender, so we have opposite schedules most of the time. & we do already spend alot of time hanging out already, so i don't forsee too many problems. we also are scarily similar in terms of pet peeves & "order & cleanliness" LOL

 

wait a second... so you wanted more space but then took on a room mate? now she is hot.... and even if you have different schedules.... still sharing more space with more people nets out to less space :thinking: the extra kitchen cabinets will be filled with her food.

 

she has already said she only needs the closet in her room & i have this pretty large armoire that has shelves & drawers that i don't really use that she will use as well....i've been to her prev apt & for a girl, she has surprisingly average-sized wardrobe & she tends to be very orgaanized with it...which makes a huge difference LOL

as far as food goes, i have been buying more stuff in bulk & plan on buying a stand-up freezer to replace the smaller cube one i have now. it goes in the pretty large walk-in pantry that these apts have, so we will have more room for food in it. we'll just have to buy canned stuff & such more frequently than the once a month i've been doing currently....more cabinet space i was referring to places to put my pots & pans & food prep appliances & such.

as far as space...the 2nd bdrm she'll have is the size of mine currently & the mbdrm i'm going to is larger & has a walk-in closet i don't have now...not to mention there is also the storage room on the balcony that i can put all the rarely used stuff that currently is making my hall coat closet pretty much unusable....& she has a monthly storage unit that we are gonna split the cost of that we will also keep rarely used stuff in

i forgot to mention....she is a "cleaner" so she has volunteered to take on the general apt cleaning duties that i loathe doing

so on top of doing most all the vacuuming, dusting, etc, she's also going to basically cover the difference in my current & new rent (and then some) & half of the utilities

you know, for a change, that has little do with my decision....she is probably one of my greatest friends. she gives me good advice on all aspects of my life, helps keep me on a good mental equilibrium, is a great companion to do things with & just in general, is kinda like that sister i always wish i had......
