I can achieve 70mpg, but not all the time. I had 71.1mpg over a 56 mile trip the other dayh: I bet if I stripped the car down and got light weight 15" rims and Ultra low rolling resistance tires I could do 80mpg.

I'm amazed at the mpg I get with a full loaded vehicle on 16" rims and wider tires than it was rated with. I'd like to drive a different car in 5M for a week and see what I can achieve. I believe I could get over 40mpg in a 1.8T golf, my friends 20th 6M got around 36mpg all highway on a trip to FL with no hypermiling techniques, and he had 18" rims and tires.

I have to hypermile to get 40mpg in the GS-R. Which isn't so bad because I don't drive fast anymore.
