naww... they are pretty much new and clean. Just the pic makes them look like that. Also they are very soft suede so they crease a lot.

Zig zag and double knotted for my gym shoes.
Parallel and individually knotted at the top on my beater shoes. Then I burn the knots so they don't unravel.
