saw it and loved it.

DDL is awesome.

Some douchebag ex-fratboy sat behind my roommate and I in the theater...he was saying "man, this is fucking gay, what a bullshit movie."

My roommate turned around and said "Why don't you go watch Fast and the Furious or something"

I thought it was an amazingly well done movie.
I do have to admit that when I went to watch it I was expecting something totally different than what was shown.

I personally thought it was it was better than No Country For Old Men...but who knows. I think DDL is so captivating that he kept me so engaged during the whole movie. No Country didn't really have that hook for me, although Javier Bordan (or however his name is spelled) played a pretty interesting role.

I liked No Country a lot as well but I need to read the book to catch some story I must have missed along the way. I hear it follows the book really close though.

Something about how DDL fashions his words really commands your attention when he speaks, not sure if it's the accent or not but I noticed it watching Gangs Of NY.

I loved it. A lot of people didn't like the ending, but I thought it was fucking hardcore the way it finished.

Outstanding acting, cinematography, etc...very well done.

I was kind of mixed on this movie. I had high expectations. DDL is amazing, definitely one of my favorite actors. While I enjoyed the movie, I am second guessing why I enjoyed it. Was it strictly because of DDL's performance or was the story/directing as rich as his character? I guess I am more on the fence about whether the movie as a whole was good or was it DDL that carried the movie with his performance.

I see it as a combination in this case because the period correct settings really was a huge influence on the ability of the actors to make it seem convincing.

I dunno I thought the director did an amazing job making it all work together.
