Default My apartment sucks....

Whats a good excuse to get out of an apartment lease....my nieghbors on both sides of me are jackasses!! They both smoke, so now my apartment reeks like smoke now too!! This place blows!!

does your lease outline any fines or penalties for breaking a lease?

not sure under what conditions theyd let you off w/o having to deal w/ those

yeah im thinkin about movin out early too to a better place and the possibility of an additional roommate/friend. the security deposit is whats on the line

assign your lease to some other individual; such as, a college student, until your lease expires. :dunno:

I once lived in a basement apt. and the sprinkler system sprung a leak, so flooded (just wet carpet) half of the apt. They, the new owners of the complex, said it was just ground water, but I'd lived there for years with no prob. so I was confident it was the sprinkler system or something.

Ended up having to contact the health inspector or whatever and have him talk to the landlord before they finally had it fixed, I threatened to break my lease with allergies (potentially made worse by mold growth) as the excuse but ended up staying until it ended.

I wasn't really bothered by the situation much at all, allergies wise, but maybe if you play the similar bothered-by-smoke card you could at least move to another apt. in the complex :shrug:
