I prefer to use craigslist if I can find what I want through it. I used to use ebay a lot, but then people tried to scam me and I had some problems w/ paypal.
I still use it, just not as much and I am much more cautious.

They charge you $15 for shipping and then you get the USPS package (20 days later) and on the label it shows it cost them $2.25.
