I wonder how many times this was done and someone wasn't caught?

Personally I have no problems with tax evaders or people who steal directly from the government. I realize the government doesn't like the competition but fuck em, they have been taxing me without representing me for years so they can deal with it.

its pretty ridiculous how some of you guys are all pro military and then say the government is greedy, well no shit wonder why

regardless, the asshole stole a bunch of money, or at least it looks like he did
he should be punished accordingly
if it isnt a big deal, then stealing wouldnt be illegal
how did he steal it?

nowhere it says he was stealing. all they say he is guilty of is not claiming the money / not paying taxes. they want to know how he got the money and why hes not paying taxes.

he helped coordinate and plan base additions ... i highly doubt that job would give him access to millions of dollars he could siphon from freely.

the problem stems from the fact that he tried to hide the money from the government by shipping it in under cover and then depositing it in small amounts.

The sender, David Ricardo Ramirez, illegally took the money from the billions of dollars that American taxpayers have poured into Iraq since the U.S. invasion in 2003, the records show.

If you could find or get close enough to take them then I suppose my job was left undone in some way

Selective read much?

"He may have done some kind of side jobs for contractors, and they're all friends to a degree," Norton said. "Contractors and the people over there, they deal in cash, no checks. David may have done something that may have been inappropriate doing work on the side that he was not supposed to, but it was not illegal."

About as much as I am going to believe any media printing of the story.

What makes your quote any more reliable or unbiased?

so if the records show it as fact, then why is he not being charged with it?

he's only being charged with the tax evasion and importing of money.

until he's charged and convicted he didnt do it ... innocent until proven guilty.

and furthermore i'd rather see him have that money and blow it on a ducati and a lambo than some fucking iraqi get it
