Default Back to Japan... suggestions for headphones?

As some may know, I went to Japan in January. But I had promised my GF that we'd go in the summer (and at the time I didn't think I'd be going earlier this year).

So, we are about to book a two week trip for June.

Anyways, LiLRexen's thread reminded me that I need to find some legit noise cancellation headphones for the flight. In January I used some shitty iPod headphones. Not only did my ears hurt after having them in for 18+ hours, but they didn't cancel any ambient sounds.

Anyone have any suggestions for good headphones? I don't want to break the bank, but I also don't want a shitty pair.

Thanks,

I have this exact set. For $16, it's not getting much better.

If you aren't looking to spend a fortune these are the best sounding ear buds available.

The quality and comfort of these are amazing. I can keep them in for hours and not feel sore at all. They can handle any EQ my iPod throws at them.

I am very satisfied.
