Location plays a huge part into how much you will pay. I suggest calling up your insurance company for some quotes if you want to be constructive about this.

Like he said, get a quote. If federal laws regarding insurance coverage to minors is still what it was when I was 16, your going to have to ride your parents policy since you have to be 18 to carry your own policy.

 

Back in California, I was paying $1200 every six months so location can be a huge factor in price. They are also going to factor in your age and the kind of car you drive. Typically a coupe will have higher insurance rates than a sedan. A GSR at your age is going to cost a lot more to fully cover compared to a basic 4 door Civic.

 

96 Special Edition coupe, full coverage, one ticket (don't think they know that yet... my rates didn't go up) Almost 20 years old, $1300 every six months.

 

The loss percentage on a particular car is only a part of what determines a person's rate. Location and driving experience, along with convictions matter more.

i'm assuming since you're in DFW, a lot kids already have integras that have been stolen, wrecked, etc, so that wont help your insurance rates at ALL.
