Timing belt service today...
'96 Accord DX/VP
185K
2.2 nonVTEC auto
Dropped my car off this morning @ about 730 before work and picked it up about 5pm...
timing belt
balance belt
cam seal
balance seal
crank seal
water pump
coolant flush and replace (blue now)
change transmission fluid
new valve cover and spark plug sleeve seals
inspected car for any other problems and found one which i already knew about and is next on my list
Total - $644.99
Didn't think the price was too bad and def better than trying to wing my way through it...

not when i'm 2 minutes from mercer... and gas is 3/gal
how does this compare to what others are paying for the service? just curious... they even called me as soon as they were done and talked like it was a family member having surgery... "The timing belt service went really well, no problems..."

that was out the door (tax and all...)
I do have to say they didn't replace the tensioners though, they said they check them, but really the only tensioners that need to be replaced as part of maintenance are the hydraulic tensioners... I figured if they were bad at all, they'd jump on the chance to get more money out of me...
Any why is goodson better? they're over two hours from here... can they really be that much cheaper and if so, how much... i need a dollar figure since you're so convinced lol...
240 miles from here roundtrip, 240/22 mpg @ 3/gal = ~35.00 gas ( X2 - back and forth to drop off, back and forth to pick up) plus drive time and having to FIND a ride back and forth and not being able to make it a one day job... need my car back asap... flying to Kansas city MO this weekend to drive my sister's Acura TL back
