I've seem some gruesome injuries playing hockey over the years. Ankles bent in weird angles, bones popping out out arms, shins, eye gouges (yuck), accidental stick in eye + blindness and some nasty, nasty cuts.

The Malarchuk slice was the worst, the Zednik one I only saw a bad quality version but it happens more often than you guys realize.

Neck guards should be mandatory in the NHL but it will never be until someone dies. The macho mentality is great in this sport.

that is why i dont make a point to watch hockey.

if i want to see a fight, i will turn on boxing. not really all that interested in watching a few goons throw a tantrum cuz one guy held the other into the boards for too long.
